Vocational Training Schools are very alternative schools
Vocational education is a choice for those who want to have a career after taking vocation technical school during high school or after taking a post-secondary education. There are some people who choose to abstain from college education because of financial constraints and would instead attend a vocational training school to learn specialized skills to land a job. There are other people who take the vocational education first before attending higher education classes. After receiving a certification or diploma training in vocational training schools, these people would take a part-time or full-time career and, at the same time, attend a university to take an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Michigan Future, Inc. to Accelerate Expansion of New College-Prep High Schools in Metro Detroit - First School to Open September 2011
Michigan Future, Inc. (MFI) announced today an ambitious, multi-million-dollar effort to open 35 new, college-prep high schools in the Detroit metro area by 2018, starting with the expansion of the successful Detroit Edison Public School Academy (DEPSA) to open DEPSA High School this fall. This accelerated expansion of high schools, Michigan Future Schools, is being funded by four local foundations – the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Skillman Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, and the McGregor Fund. Michigan Future is accepting applications now for two additional high schools to open in the fall of 2011. The Detroit Public Schools (DPS) are also preparing a proposal to submit to the Michigan Future Governing Council later this year ...
